Kenyatta Johnson was born in Fayetteville, NC to James and Bettie Johnson. She is the founder, director and producer of IRMC Productions. Kenyatta’s mission is to provide opportunities for curvy women to express themselves, use their God given gifts, perfect their crafts, embrace others and be free of people’s perceptions and ideas about their ability through stage production. Growing up Kenyatta was not chosen most popular or most likely to succeed. She was isolated, labeled troubled and outcast as a problem child that could not be saved. At an early age, there was no doubt Kenyatta was born to do something great to inspire others. No matter how hard people tried to put her down, she kept smiling. Kenyatta’s tells people that she went through a lot of hell early in life to reach this moment. She gives until it hurts. Her heart is 100% invested in seeing people reach their potential and serving others. The vision for Beyond the Curves was Holy Spirit inspired. “Women need to know they are fearfully and wonderfully made, despite what they have been told by insecure people”, says Johnson. She hopes this will be the first of many performances for curvy women, performed by curvy women, produced by a curvy woman for all curvy women.
